It seems as though Amanda & Stephanie were both on the same wavelength this week when preparing their projects! We didn't set it up this way and they showing us how to create cut handmade happy mail!! LOVE that! I know that in this digital age we live in, it is definitely touching to actually receive something physical in the mail.... and it is even more special when it is handmade!
Sending handmade cards and gifts is on the top of my to-do list for this year. I love receiving snail mail and small little gifts, but sending them is even better!
Sometimes I tend to overthink the whole "handmade" thing and find myself swamped in supplies and ideas, but you really can keep it so simple and make something so sweet for that special someone!
For this special gift, I used several gold rub-ons on a glassine bag and created a card from a trimmed piece of the Styleboard gold dot kraft paper. The rub-ons adhere to the silkiness of the glassine bag so beautifully that it looks like it was made that way!! To add a little dimension and jazz, I adorned the bag with a hand stamped tag and included a Flea Market floral pin and resin flower. I also added a few paper layers and a doily onto the bag for a pop of color and texture.
After my card and bag were made, I gathered up a few birthday goodies, including a balloon, candles and some tags with drawings from my children. Then, I just slid the card and all of the birthday goodies right into the glassine bag! So fast, so easy and oh so handmade!
