The felt bow clips that she made are absolutely darling!! They would make such a cute and easy baby shower gift too!! Read on for Amanda's darling felt bow hair clip tutorial below...
I might have squealed out loud when I discovered I could use the Styleboard bow die template to cut wool felt. Today I am excited to share with how to make felt bow hair clips for all the little girls in your life, or maybe even yourself !!!!
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
2 sheets of wool felt (one color for the bow and one color for the clip)
metal blank hair clip (you can find them cheaper and in bulk over in the sewing / notions aisle
scissors
hot glue (when working with wool felt, hot glue is your best friend.)
die cutter and bow craft die template
To start, die cut the bow from one of your colored wool felt sheets using your die cutting machine. Hot glue your bow shape together and set aside.
Next, we are going to create a cover to go over your metal hair clip. This will create a place to set the bow.
STEP 1: place your clip on top of your felt. Using a pencil, trace along side of the clip tracing the clip shape onto to felt. When cutting out your clip shape as pictured above, give a little extra space from your traced line. The extra space will make sure you are able to fully cover the metal clip.
STEP 2: Fold over the top of ONE of your felt clip covers. Cut a small slit on the fold and insert your clip. I then covered the top of the clip with hot glue to connect the two pieces together. Firmly press the two pieces together.
Step 3: Lastly, hot glue your bow to the top of your covered clip.
These felt blow clips are so fun to make and full of color!! Once you make one, you'll be making one in every color!!!
