Hi there! I have a pretty layout from Stephanie to share with you today! This paper with the watercolor birds is one of my very favorites from the Styleboard Collection so it is always a pleasure to see how other people are using it on their scrapbook pages! In the steps below, Stephanie teaches us how to create a soft and subtle watercolor background and then she takes us step by step through her page building process! I love to see how other creative people work and it gives us a glimpse into how she takes her page from start to finish!
Watercolors can add the perfect pop of color to any project! I love using them sparingly on my background to create a soft and dreamy effect. Layering pretty papers and embellishments on top just help to compliment them and bring out their beauty! Today, I'll be sharing how this delicate layout came together!
I started my background by painting a few strokes of pale pink watercolors along the middle of my white card stock. Then I layered a piece of the Vintage Charm patterned paper from the Styleboard collection along the top portion of my page. The soft pale pink color is so pretty and it coordinated so well with my watercolors.
Next, I added a few layers in the middle of my page to build a base for my photo. I made sure to overlap the watercolors and edge of the patterned paper.
I attached a piece of paper roughly the size of my photo to the back of it and then sewed around three edges to create a pocket with a side opening. I added a few embellishment stickers, tags and paper layers around my photo for more depth and color.
I wrote my journaling onto a Styleboard photo overlay and adhered a small sticker tab to the outside edge to allow the reader to pull it out of the pocket.
