I really put my Silhouette Cameo Die Cut Machine to good use for my layouts that I created with this month's Studio Calico kits!! If you don't already have the Silhouette, you might want to ask Santa! ;) No really, it is awesome and it can be used for everything from scrapbooking to card making to general crafting, party decor etc!
I used the leaf cut from this set on the following two pages and I just love how basic it is, but oh so cute at the same time!!
On this one I cut a large heart and then also used the together banner cut file from this set. In addition I layered some white doilies into the background and LOVE the texture that those add!
Next up, we have the beloved deer head! I just love how these turned out! This shape is actually from the Cuppa Printables digital file. I pulled the file into the Silhouette software and then used the trace tool to trace around it, made it bigger and then cut it out!
I will be sharing a tutorial for how I made the sequins pocket inside the deer head shape in the layout above in another blog post soon!!
On the next three I used the trace tool again and then cut with the Silhouette - tracing the star in a circle from the Cuppa Printables page and the heart in a circle design that was in the Digital Stamp Brush set.
And last but not least is my layout that I created only using the November main kit. The "I Love This" phrase stamp is super cute!!
Let me know if you have any questions on the Silhouette techniques! The trace function is really actually quite easy and it opens up a whole new world because you can literally take any shape in there (from the digital stamp brushes or the printables), trace it and then cut it out!!
If you are new to this world and some (or all) of these digital terms seem foreign to you, there is a great introduction to what it all means and how to use it in your paper crafting here on the Studio Calico site.
Happy crafting!
xoxo
