Photography & Scrapbooking: December Daily Classes

I am soooooo excited for today! I have been waiting to announce this for a while and it has been super hard to keep it in! I am giddy with excitement that today is finally the day!!

Lots of info to follow so please read through this entire LONG post! You won't be disappointed!! :)

Registration for my December Daily Photography Workshop is open today! 

It is the same format as last year with an email sent to you each day, but the content and photos will be new.

Please note that some ideas and/or themes may be repeated because the elements of the holidays aren't new, but content will be presented in a fresh way with new photos and lots of ideas and tips that are different from last year's class.

This year I am also teaching a December Daily ALBUM class at Studio Calico!

I AM SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THIS and can't wait for class to start!!!

'Tis the season for making memories - and we want to help you record them. Join us for 25 Days : A December Daily guide with instructor Maggie Holmes. Maggie will be working with the Studio Calico December Daily kit and taking you through her album with daily PDF updates, giving you encouragement and inspiration to keep up with your own album!  Maggie is joined by six talented contributors who will be sharing tips and tutorials, as well as pages from their completed book. Amy Tan, Ann-Marie Morris, Deb Duty, Kinsey Wilson, Marcy Penner, and Tami Gookstetter will each be taking on a December Daily album in their own style, giving you a wide range of inspiration. We'll also be sharing a bonus PDF from Ali Edwards with 25 prompts of stories to look for in your December. Class members will have access to a private message board where Maggie will be posting weekly discussion threads and challenges to help keep you on track.

While supplies last, our 25 Days students will receive a bonus class kit - this collection of journaling cards, embellishments and an exclusive stamp set will be the perfect addition to your album whether you're using the Studio Calico December Daily kit or working from your own stash.  Students will also have access to exclusive printables and digital cut files from  Ali Edwards, Kinsey Wilson and Marcy Penner. Once the class kits sell out, registration for this class will remain open - those students will receive access to the printables and cut files, but will not receive the bonus kit.

Scrapbooking: SC November Kits and a Giveaway!

The November Studio Calico kits are now available!! For the first time ever I really used up a TON of my kits because I created so many projects this month. The mix of everything together was perfect!!

As I said in the last post, I had all of the kits so you are seeing a mix of everything on my projects , except for my "main kit only" layout which is below.

This month each of the Design Team members chose a member of the board to scraplift. I chose neroliskye and this is my page that was inspired by one of her layouts.

 

And here are my cards. I seriously die for the 6x6 paper pad that comes in these card kits! It is the best!!!

I mentioned a while ago that from now on I am going to host a giveaway each month in which I will be giving some of my extra products that are left over from the kits to one lucky winner.

Scrapbooking: Studio Calico November Kit Sneak Peeks

I know I always say that the kits are amazing and truly they always are, but for some reason the kits this month were SOOOOO super easy for me to work with! Once I got scrapping I literally just kept going and going and the layouts were flying into the completed pile faster than I could believe! 

I always get all of the kits because I take the photographs for the Studio Calico site so everything except my "main kit only" layout is a mixture of things from all of the kits. It all meshes so well together and once I pull everything out, there is no keeping things separate for me. What can I say, I am an eclectic kinda gal! :)

Here is a sneak peek of all of my projects.... 11 layouts and 4 cards! That's definitely a record for me! See, I wasn't kidding when I said the inspiration was flying! 

Reveal is tonight and you should definitely be sure to check out the kits when they go on sale! There are lots of awesome products and stamp sets this month and I think they will fly off the shelves!

I also used my Silhouette Cameo a TON this month! I am getting more and more obsessed with that thing! The exclusive cut files are awesome this month!! 

After reveal I will be back to do a giveaway of my extras from the October & November Kits. In my whirlwind of craziness this past month I missed the October giveaway! Hope you'll forgive me!

Life: Fall, Floods & Cardigans

Another month has flown by and boy has it been a CRAZY month for us!!

We moved, went out of town for a few days & then came home to a flooded house... so now we are living in a hotel until they get it all fixed....  then we will move back in! What a whirlwind right? 

Fall is definitely in the air and I am loving the cooler temps! It means I get to start wearing all of my beloved cardigans every single day!! Yay!!

Trying to figure out what the kids will be for Halloween today since we have our ward Trunk Or Treat tomorrow night and then we will be working on school projects over the weekend.

Tis the season for fall photo shoots and they are now officially in full swing! 

Elizabeth Kate is a joyful happy mile a minute and she is talking up a storm. My favorite thing she says is "what?" when you call her name or ask her a question! Haha! Silly girl!

Scrapbooking: Scrapfest 2012

Last month I taught at SCRAPFEST at the Mall of America. It was my first time attending this event and I have to say that it was one of the most fun events ever! I loved that it was set up right in the middle of the most AMAZING mall ever! The hustle and bustle definitely added to the excitment!

Spreading out one of my class kits before it started.... a mix of Studio Calico, Crate Paper and American Crafts.

Teaching the make & take in the middle of the mall....

This was the mess on the floor behind our booth! We had trouble finding our garbage cans the first day! Haha!

Ended each night with a shuttle back to the hotel with my cute friend Elizabeth Kartchner aka Dear Lizzy..... also included lots of laughs and long chats!

Did a little shopping and I mean very LITTLe shopping! Even though we were at the Mall of America there just wasn't time for it unfortunately! This was an amazing shop called Typo.

Also lots of talking and LOADS of laughing with these ladies.... Margie Romney-Aslett and Jayme Shepherd.

And last but NOT least was the time I got to spend with all of my fabulous students! I had a blast at our late night crop and I also LOVED teaching such sweet and wonderful ladies each day!

It was truly a joy and I think I shall definitely go back!! See you next year!!
