Instagram Photos, Scrapbooking and Moving

We are moving this weekend and my scrapbook room is all packed up and ready to go. I have to say that it was giving me serious anxiety to put everything in boxes. Not because I was worried about it but because I hated knowing that I couldn't come in here and scrapbook if I wanted to..... Kind of made me realize how much I love this craft and hobby and how much I would miss it if it wasn't a part of my life and routine. I am already itching to get everything set up in the new house so I can get crafting again! 

In the midst of all the chaos this past week I managed to get a a couple of layouts done and wanted to share them with you. I have this huge stack of Instagram photos that I recently printed and I am having fun scrapbooking them! Doesn't this fresh stack of photos just make you want to scrapbook? I LOVE that!! I always start with the photos when I scrapbook, so having them all printed and ready to go is super inspiring for me! 

Both of these layouts use a lot of American Crafts products. I already had them out on my table because I was doing my projects for my August guest post and I just kept working away! Love it when you are in the groove and can just keep going! I think I created both of these pages in under an hour! Before starting on this one I sprayed the background with some Maya Road and Mister Huey's mist. From there it is pretty much a hodge podge collage of things that were on my desk - my favorite way of scrapbooking!

This one is also a mix of American Crafts goodies, Mister Huey's mist and then some random things that I had laying out that weren't packed up yet - eclectic and random and true to my "collagey" style.

Studio Calico Blog Blitz and Giveaway!

Welcome to the Studio Calico Blog Blitz! It's always fun to share the creations that we worked on for the CHA booth and we are doing just that today! I am excited about so many of the new products from this release and I haven't even seen everything in person yet so it is fun to see all of the layouts up close! After you enter the giveaway below be sure to go to the Studio Calico blog and click through to see the other designers' layouts and projects as well!! They are all doing giveaways too so you have lots of chances to win some of the products before you can even buy them!

This first layout showcases the new Butterfly masks, which I am in LOVE with!! These will get a lot of use from me I am sure!! I also used the new Mister Huey's Shine mist which is the perfect shade of silvery glimmery mist! LOVE!

The next one uses the same Butterfly masks but in a different way. A lot of people at the show asked how this was done.... After misting over the masks (for the above page) I carefully lifted them up, turned them over and then "stamped" them onto this next page. The trick was that I had a LOT of mist on the masks and I also pressed them down carefully so the mist would spread to all of the edges before lifting them off. The result is this fun watercolor stamped look and I love it!!

This page showcases the new bookplate stickers. I am also loving the new tissue trims, which I misted here and then sewed to the page (over on the left).

And finally this one which shows off bits of a lot of things - the new chipboard butterflies, the papers and then the wood veneer banner pieces.... swoon!! They take mist very well (which is what I did here) and I love that the wood grain still shows through!

Creative Escape 2011

 

Are you going to Creative Escape this year? I am!! I taught a photography class last year and had a blast! It was one of the best events I have ever been too. Well, actually it was the BEST event I have ever been to! The teachers were amazing, the students were amazing, the Bazzill staff was amazing, the food was amazing..... need I say more? It really WAS that good and I promise they aren't paying me to say this! :)

This is the last year they are holding the event and since it was so great I couldn't pass up on the chance to attend again, only this time I am going as a student! I am so excited! I have never been to event as a student and I am looking forward to sitting in class and being inspired by all of the teachers... especially Ali Edwards and I've seen a peek of Janet Hopkins' project and it looks so fun! I hope to see you all there in class with me! Can't wait to reconnect with some of the ladies I met last year!

One of the things that is new this year is the Thursday Bazaar, which I am excited to be a part of! There will be mini classes, giveaways, demos etc. I will be hosting a table and I can't wait to see you there! Be sure to stop by and say hello and see what I have in store for you!

A Crafty Giveaway...

It's been a while....

I can't believe how long it's been since I have posted here.... lots going on.....

The biggest event that has happened recently is the arrival of our little

Elizabeth Kate!

She is perfect in every way and such a good baby and I have been trying to soak up every minute and enjoy each little moment with her. I absolutely love the newborn stage and I can't get enough of snuggling her! My favorite is to just sit and hold her all curled up like a little ball. This time passes much too quickly and I don't want it to be over yet! 

Needless to say I have taken hundreds of photos of her... sneaking in some more formal photo shoots amongst the day to day and the normal routine which consists of feeding her, snuggling her, changing many many diapers, doing all of her laundry, more snuggling and then repeating all over again. 

All of these were taken at the hospital. I love how fresh and new she looks! Her tiny little feet are all wrinkly and just soooo cute! Love those tiny toes! As I start to sift through the other photos I have taken since I have been home I will definitely share! Although I have to save some for a special project that I just got asked to do and I am super thrilled about!! Can't wait to share it with you eventually!! :)

All of that is on top of it being summer and having all of the kids home, taking the boys to swim team and basketball camps, taking Emily to her dance class, trying to have some fun before they go back to school, and recovering from a c-section! Talk about jumping right back into the chaos!! But it is all good chaos and I wouldn't have it any other way! I feel incredibly grateful and blessed every day that I get to be a mother! I love it!

I will try to get back on here more regularly since I do have even more photos to share now, but if I go missing for a few days, just know that I am most likely on the couch holding my little Elizabeth Kate snuggling and holding her as close and as tight as possible! :) I just can't get enough!
