So excited to share my June Studio Calico layouts with you! I meant to get sneak peeks up last week but I was so busy getting ready for our sweet little baby to arrive that it just didn't happen.
The kits are definitely more boyish in style this month and you know I love me some pink.... but I got over it really quickly because everything is still so awesome! I mean how can you not just love the combination of colors and patterns in the main kit:
Even without any pink I think it is one of my favorite kit images that I have taken because I just love how it all looks together! I love the pop of turquoise and yellow and the little bits of orange are fun too!
Anyway, onto my layouts....
First up is "Those Eyes"
This one is pretty simple but it just felt finished and it didn't feel right to add anything else. Papers are from the Main Kit and Add-On 3. Ribbon, small alpha, #5 brad are from Add-On 2. Scallop border at the top and large alpha are from Add-On 3. I used the Ink Blending Tool along with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to color the large alpha orange.
Next is "Matthew"
I have to say I wasn't sure what the outcome would be when I started creating the background for this page but I love how it turned out! The paper is really a mix from all the kits. Then I used the chipboard borders from Add-On 3 and the sticker borders from the Main Kit. Alphas and embellishments are a mix from all the kits as well. I Used Mister Huey's mist in Clover to turn the "M" green (from Add-On 1). And I also turned the "T" (from the Main Kit) red using Barn Door Distress Ink.
Finally is "So You"
This one didn't turn out exactly as I had envisioned.... it is one of those layouts where I just kept adding and adding things and then it got feeling a little messy but it was too late. :) And I wasn't about to start over, so..... it is what it is!
Again this is a mix of papers and things from most or all of the kits. By the time I get to my third layout I usually have all the kits spread out everywhere and mixed all together so it becomes a bit of a hodge podge of everything! The chipboard banner colors didn't quite match so I cut pieces from other papers and just glued them over the top of some of the triangles. I used grey and black StazOn inks to alter the chipboard letters and that's about it!
Let me know if you have any questions!
