Studio Calico CHA Layouts

It has been crazy and fun following all of the tweets and blog posts about CHA this past weekend! It was nice to see some glimpses of what was going on with my favorite companies but at the same time it sure made me wish I was there!! Not only to see all of the amazing booths and new products in person but to see and catch up with all of my scrappy friends! I have met sooooo many amazing women through this industry and it is pretty cool how many friends I have now that I would never have otherwise! Missed you all but I am planning to go to the Summer CHA show so I can't wait to see you then!!

I still need to share the layouts I did for the show! I was planning to share them throughout the weekend but we ended up with some sick kiddos over here so my time was focused on tending to them. Nathan is home sick today now too and I have to say that even though he and Emmy are both not feeling great, they sure are having fun together. Reminds me of last year (before Nathan started Kindergarten) and what close friends they became..... hanging out every day and spending so much time together. They really get along well and Nathan is so sweet with her. Every day I am happy and excited about how much Nate loves school and how well he is doing, but this also makes me miss having him at home...... A LOT! 

I am just sitting here listening to their little conversations and how cute they are with each other.... one of the great joys of being a mother! I guess there is definitely a positive side to sick days too right? 

Anyway, here are the layouts that I did for the Studio Calico booth..... using the new Countryside and State Fair collections. If you have any questions about anything, let me know!

Also, I got a great response about the boxes of supplies!! Wow!! As of now they are all sold but I am always accumulating more things so I will definitely do this again in the future!!

If you purchased a box from me, they are being sent out today and tomorrow. It took me a little longer than I planned to get them packed up and ready to go (we have sick kiddos over here so things have been moving a little slower than usual). Thanks for your patience!!

Scrapbook Supplies: Need a New Home

Hi there! If you follow me on twitter or facebook you probably saw my post today about cleaning out my scrapbook room.... yet again. I just finished doing almost 20 layouts in the last 2 weeks (in preparation for CHA) and you would think I would be ready for a break right? But for some reason (and I always seem to do this) I get the urge to start organizing and cleaning things up after I do a bunch of projects like that! Maybe it's because of the flow of new products coming in or maybe it's an early nesting phase but needless to say, I have created an even bigger mess in here!! 

I have literally been going through every single bucket, bin and container. I have to admit that it is easy to become a hoarder of sorts when it comes to scrapbooking supplies! There are so many things that I have a hard time parting with because I still love them.... and yet I know that there is no way I would EVER be able to use it all. So I am being super strict with myself and forcing myself to pare it way way down!

See all these containers in the bookcase below? Well I am excited to say that they are all freshly organized and I even have a handful of empty ones now!! Feels great! I've also gone through my other large bookcase, the closet and the storage under my scrap table! 

Anyway, the point of all of this is that I now have bags and bags of wonderful products that need a new home. I have some things tucked away so that I can continue to do giveaways throughout the year (so don't worry, there will always be more of those)..... but this time around I am offering a bunch of prepacked boxes for sale here on my blog.

Here's the rundown:

I will sell each box for $25.00, plus shipping. I will pack everything in the flat rate priority boxes which ship for about $11.00. The boxes will be packed as full as I can get them and you will be receiving WAY more than $25.00 worth. There is no way to put an actual value on each box but trust me, they will be packed full! Many of the products are brand new (still in packaging), some are new but out of the packaging, and others are gently used (meaning that there may be some missing stickers or brads, etc.) Some of the products are newer and others are older but things that I love and have been hanging onto. Lots of it I still love but have multiples of so I am keeping one set and passing the others onto you! 

If you are interested please email me (use the link underneath my photo on the right) and we will discuss the details. I am listing (as specific as possible) what I have so that you can get an idea of what type of products you are purchasing.

Right now, here is what I have:

4 boxes that are pretty much just ribbon - literally tons of ribbons in a mix of colors

1 box that is full of chipboard alphas - different alphas, some colored but mostly raw chipboard

1 box with mostly chipboard shapes and embellishments - mostly colored or glittered

1 box with quite a few inkpads, some stamps and then a random mix of other things with it

1 box that is mostly halloween and christmas products with some other random things

1 box that is mostly chipboard alphas, also with 2 border punches and some other random things

1 box that is mostly brads of different types, some clear stamps and other random things

Paper - I have lots of 12x12 patterned paper that I can fill multiple boxes with at random. If there are certain types/themes you are looking for, let me know in your email and I will do my best to get you what you want.

** All of the boxes listed above will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. If you want a specific box, I would suggest emailing me quickly. After the boxes above are gone I will fill the remaining ones with random things, giving you a mix of different types of products.

Studio Calico CHA Blog Hop and a Giveaway!

Hi there! Today we are doing a Studio Calico blog hop in honor of their new CHA releases! Not only do I get to share a layout I created with the new products but I'm hosting a giveaway as well! And the best part?? All of us design team members are participating, so if you follow the links and hop from blog to blog, you can enter all of our giveaways! That gives you lots of chances to win!! So fun!!

Here's my layout.....

I paired the Countryside collection with a deep pink cardstock from American Crafts and I love how well the Studio Calico colors pop against this background! I misted it just a bit first with Mister Huey's Calico White and then Maya Road Silver Plated on top of that, to soften it a little.

The butterflies were made using the Martha Stewart 3 in 1 Classic Butterfly Punch and the packaging from the new wood veneer pieces. When I notice an awesome pattern that has been used in the packaging, you can bet that I am going to save it so I can cut it up or punch it and use it on some layouts!! It's like a free little bonus!!

Overall I kept this one pretty simple so that the focus would stay on the photo.... used a couple of the SC stickers, a simple title using emily's initials, some buttons, one of the new yellow SC notions, a strip of my fave American Crafts mixtape, another strip of lace tape (not sure of the manufacturer) and then a flower from My Mind's Eye and a metal badge from American Crafts. Not a lot of journaling on this page either.... sometimes the photos just speak for themselves!

Now for the exciting part.... the giveaway! Each of us was able to choose our favorite thing from the new lines to give away! It was definitely hard because I truly love so much of it, but I decided to go with the Yellow notions and the Countryside Label Stickers! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. CHA Sneak Peeks: Girls' Paperie

I recently joined the Girls' Paperie design team and I'm super excited about it for a couple of reasons. The first is because I have known Margie (the creative genius behind the line) for many years now and she is a great friend and someone that I truly adore and admire! As anyone who knows her would agree, she is super fun to be with and she has a personality that makes you just happy to be alive. She not only makes you laugh more than you ever thought possible but she also has a way of making you feel super special and loved. Love you Margie!!

The second reason I am excited about designing for her is that her products are super girly and super fun!! What else would you expect coming from her right? Everything she is releasing was very easy for me to work with and the layouts came together I think faster than any I have ever done!! 

She is releasing 3 new lines at this show and the first one I'm sharing with you is Vintage Whimsy. She posted a glimpse into this collection on her blog and you can see it here. Like she says, it is vintage, whimsical and beautiful!! I especially love the trims, the little embellishments and the clear stamps for this line. I know I will be using these stamps a lot!

CHA Sneak Peeks: Studio Calico

Hi there! I have been super busy this week and last working on layouts for CHA for Studio Calico, October Afternoon and Girls' Paperie. The layouts will be hanging in their booths to showcase the new product lines. This is one of the parts that I love most about my job! I get to see and work with the new products before they are released and before they hit the store shelves! Talk about lucky!! It is so exciting to get the boxes of products and open them to see everything!! It feels like Christmas all over again!!

CHA isn't until the end of this month and I know that we are all dying to see everything that our favorite companies are releasing! I love seeing the new trends and new innovative products that have been developed! Some companies now post their entire new product lines on their blogs/sites before the show so that we don't have to wait in anticipation and others are just giving little snippits and sneak peeks of things. Either way it is exciting to see what is being shared each day around the web!!

I can't show you my full layouts that I have made for the booths but I can share some sneak peeks and then once the show starts I will be back to share the full layouts.

First up is Studio Calico....

They are releasing two new lines.... both of which I am super excited about! I am especially in love with their new Mister Huey's mist colors and my favorites are Piglet and Lemonade. I have already used up almost half of my Lemonade mist!! Looks like I will be needing to stock up on that one!! You can see the entire new catalog with all of the new products they are releasing right here. I am loving the yellow notions and also the wood veneer butterflies!! The die cut tags are pretty awesome too!!

Here are sneaks of the layouts I did using mostly the Countryside collection with a few things from the State Fair collection too. 

One thing I love about both of these lines is that even though there isn't a lot of pink in them, they still work really well with pinks and can be used for very feminine layouts. You know I love pink!! It's so cool that their lines can go either masculine for boy pages or can be used in a more girly way as well. There are lots of product lines out there that are either very distinctly masculine or feminine and while I love those kinds of collections (and use them all the time), it is just cool that Studio Calico's tend to work either way! 

Another thing I love is how well the white notions and the wood veneer pieces take mists. You can easily alter them to fit with any layout by just spraying a little mist on them in any color you want!!

Online Photography Workshop Update

Hi all! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!! Ours has been busy with the boys starting basketball and me working on layouts for CHA. There's always something going on around here to keep us busy! :)

I don't have a big post planned for today but wanted to pop in with some important workshop info.

The beginner/intermediate class that starts Jan 17th is now SOLD OUT. I'm so excited to have such a wonderful group of students to start this year out with! I have been reading all of the bio sheets as they have been coming in and it is always so fun to get to know each of you a little bit before class starts!

I sent out an email to everyone that I have registered for the class. If you registered but did not get an email, please send me an email ASAP so we can get you in the system. It could be an error on my end or could be that your paypal email (that I have for you) is different than the one you use. Also, I know that some of the registrations were purchased as Christmas gifts so in that case, the email would have gone to the person who paid for the class..... either way, I just want to make sure I get everyone all set up, so please email me if you didn't get the email! Oh, and it seems as though some of you missed the announcement in the last post. Maybe I was too discreet!! Not trying to keep my friends in the dark! Haha!! YES, we are EXPECTING.... baby #5 is coming this summer!! I have been super duper sick up until now but I am finally starting to feel better! I was definitely in survival mode for a while there! Felt bad for my kiddos and hubby because I sure didn't feel like much of a mom or wife! Just have to remember that it does eventually pass and it is worth all the sacrifice and suffering! Thanks for all of the comments here on the blog and the tweets of congrats!! Love you all and appreciate all of your support and well wishes!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
