Photography: 1000 Words Class - Blog Hop

Hi there! Have you heard about the next class over at Studio Calico?

It's called 1000 Words: Capture More and it's a photography class!! You know how passionate I am about photography, so of course I said YES when they asked me to be one of the teachers! I am super excited about the other line up of teachers and contributors as well because they are all soooo talented and inspiring!!!

Here is a description of the class:

This class is different than my Photography 101 class in that it doesn't focus on the technical aspects of photography. Rather, it focuses on the style and story behind our photographs and gives you an inside look into how we capture different things like relationships, birthdays, self portraits, etc. (those are just a few of the topics).

If you already know how to use your camera, this is the perfect class to get you motivated and inspired to capture your memories in a more meaningful way. And even if you shoot in auto mode or with a phone camera, this class is perfect!

Photography: Utah Family Photo Shoot

Hi there! Popping in to share some photos from one of the sessions that I had up in Utah over the summer. I have been photographing this family for a few years now and it is always a pleasure to see them, catch up and take their pictures.

My favorite part about this session is that this little guy woke up the next morning and asked if he could go see me again! That's what I call a successful photo shoot!!

Class starts October 1st! You will be all set to go in time to capture amazing photos for the holidays!

In the 101 class you will learn things like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, metering, exposure, basic lighting, posing, creativity and composition..... It's really everything you need to get going -- whether you are just barely starting to figure out your camera or you have been shooting for a while but are still nervous to go into manual mode. This is the class for you!

Oh and don't forget about the private message board. That is where you can post all of your weekly assignments and get individualized and detailed feedback and constructive critiques on your photos. Online Photography Workshops - New Class Open for Registration!!

I wasn't planning to run any more online photography workshops this year but because I have had so many requests I have decided to do one more session!!!

The dates are:

Photography 101

October 1st - November 10th, 2012

I will be capping this class at a smaller number because it is generally a busy time of year already. So if you are wanting in, it is a good idea to sign up now! 

All of the details about the class can be found right on my website. Also that is where you register as well. Once you register you will receive a link to download the first 2 lessons so you can even get started now by reading those and doing a little practicing. On the first day of class you will receive another email with a link to download all 6 lessons and an invitation to sign up on the private message board where you will post all of your assignments, ask questions etc.

Just think, you can learn how to use your camera in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the entire holiday season!!
