We had our first Basics Workshop last Saturday and it was so much fun!!
We had a ton of information and things we were planning to go over so we were a little nervous that the ladies might get overwhelmed but it all went so smoothly! They were all so anxious to learn and try each thing and they didn't even want to take the break that we had scheduled!! I know that it was a lot of new words and concepts that we were throwing at them but they all just kept at it with smiles on their faces and so much enthusiasm!! I loved it!!
I loved the chance to just sit in a casual atmosphere and talk with other people that also feel passionately about photography! And it was so rewarding to know that they all left the workshop with a good foundation of the basics of photography. Some of them have even shared a few images with us that they have taken since then (in manual!!) and they look fabulous!! Way to go!!
I just wanted to thank all of you again for coming to the workshop and for being so fantastic!! It really was a blast and you were all so sweet and fun!! Thanks!! We are in the process of setting up a message board for our workshop participants - a place for all of you to talk and share ideas and share your images and also Kristyn and I will be popping in to the board every so often to give advice and answer questions also! Can't wait to chat with all of you some more on the board!!
Our next workshop is the Advanced and will cover things like backlighting, tricky lighting, advanced photoshop techniques, capturing connections between your subjects, workflow and much more! We will also be holding one-on-one time with each of the advanced participants during the workshop -- this is your chance to show us your portfolio and ask us questions specific to your images and your needs/goals. There are more details on The Workshop Blog so be sure to check that out if you are interested.
The Advanced Workshop is scheduled for September 20th and we still have some spots left! I know we have a lot of registration forms out that still that haven't been turned in so if you want to guarantee your spot, please get those in to us asap!! See you there!!
The first Basics Workshop filled up fast and I know there were a lot of you that wanted to come but didn't make it in or had a conflict with the date.... so, we have opened up another date! I know that the holiday season can get very busy for a lot of us but we also don't want to put you off until next year so we have decided to hold it on Saturday, November 15th. Just think, it will give you the chance to master your skills in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas so you won't miss a single shot this year!! If you are interested you can find all of the details on The Workshop Blog. Feel free to email me if you have any questions!!
