So excited to be a part of this:
I have always been a fan of the fabulous Ali Edwards and I was honored when she asked me to be a contributing artist for this book - "Sharing Your Story: Recording Life's Details with Mini Books by Ali Edwards"! The other contributing artists are also some of my all time favorites and I can't wait to see the whole thing in print!! The book is available for preorder right now and is scheduled to come out this month!! You can purchase it by clicking here! I am all smiles about this one..... so so excited and so honored!!
I also wanted to share the mini album that I created with last month's CK Kit of the Month. It is the school expansion kit by Becky Higgins and is a fabulous extension of her main school kit that was such a huge hit a few months back. But... I wanted to show you that you can use it for so many projects... not just school related pages! I love so much about this kit -- the lined paper that I always find myself using + the date stamp + the fun uses of type + the stars + the chipboard and cardstock labels. It is just a great kit!
Anyway, here is the mini album that I created. It is a complete album that tells all of the details about Tyler's 7th birthday that he just had. I used the Clearly Heavy Overlay from Hambly for the front and back covers and then I also used some regular Hambly Overlays for some of the interior pages. Pretty much everything else is from the CK kit including the smaller notebook pages and the library card pockets. When I had all of my pages complete, I used the Bind-it-All to well, bind it all together. (I guess that would explain the reason they call it that right?) I love creating mini albums like this. It feels so great to complete an album and to tell a story in its entirety. A lot of times with my scrapbook layouts I am only able to fit a few of the pictures and just parts and pieces of a story... which is completely ok... but it is also nice to do it this way every now and then! I love that all of the pictures and all of the words are all in one place - easy to pick up and flip through and most importantly, easy for Tyler to pick up and look at! He loves it!!
Here it is! (These pictures aren't the greatest - it was late at night so I used my flash and the colors seem a lot more muted than they really are.) Anyway, thanks for stopping by!!
